Class D airspace question

Hello everyone,,
It's been 4 + months since I've flown my bird and finally got some time to fly it on vacation. Reinstalled showbox.bio/ airmaps and noticed I tutuapp.uno/ was in Class D airspace so flying vidmate.vet/ under part 107 is a no go. It says I have to notify 2 local ATCs, but does it count if I notify through Airmaps? Is that only for LAANC areas? Is Airmaps sending this info to the ATCs or do I have to call. Sorry it has been awhile....

It is supposed to send the request electronically through LAANC. but be advised that Air Maps will allow a request through LAANC but the control tower does not have LAANC linked up yet. (buggy before horse syndrome)

Personally if Air Maps is the approved tie in for LAANC by the FAA in the US and if it approves it via E-request then you are good to go,
NO PHONE CALL NEEDED.
I know KittyHawk is FAA tie in approved.

If in UNSURE MAKE THE PHONE CALL,
all they can do is advise you that flying your drone is not a good ideal. If something happens you are responsible anyways.

I am a retired Air Traffic Controller as well as a UAS Pilot.
Hope this helps
