Hi.

I have installed Firmware 01.04.0500 and NLD says this firmware revome the altitude limit on 500 metres but also many others limits. i installed especially for removing the altitude limit because i love to fly extremly high. I tested to fly after the installation and ben very negative suprised. The altitude limit on 500 metres is still there and even the other limits. im very uppset about this and wondering if someone has experienced the same and can give me a explanation on this?

Hello,

What drone do you have?
That is somehow crucial to pinpoint what the problem is.

Which mod exactly did you apply, the Custom Flight Controller (FC)?

Also it is worth noting that the the NLD GO App will never allow you to put in a number higher than 500, but that does not mean that the mod does not work.
One just have to push the stick upwards and then it will climb above the 500 meter mark without any objections.

I almost do not dare to speak about it in public but...
Remember when I said that IF altitude limit would ever be removed, it would only be possible with our NLD permanent rooted core boards?

People misunderstood it and thought that there already were an altitude limit removal patch and they did not understand the nuances.

In order to remove altitude, we need to decrypt the flight controller and what not.
To be able to do that, we need the various keys that DJI uses like PUEK and so on and so forth.

WHEN the flight controller has been patched, it is then required to have root on the drone in order to replace a file that will make the drone accept flashing an unsigned file.

The good news is, that a way to extract those keys from any production drone has been outlined.

Without root there is no altitude limit removal and THAT is what I meant when I said that it would only be possible with our boards.

I know the problem behind it. Root access alone is not enough, there is another door. I have the rooted core board from you and I am satisfied with the removed NFZ.
In addition to the Mavic 2, I also have the old Mavic 1 with no height limit. But the Mavic 2 pro has a better camera.
